Life is a journey filled with countless side quests. There are a lot of obstacles, meltdowns, and frustrations along the way. That being said, there are just as many achievements, celebrations, and laughs to balance everything out. Since my last year has been focused on self-publishing, I’m going to relate life to this specific adventure.
Writing the novel was the easy part. No, really, it was. The hours of formatting my website, finding a newsletter site, linking that for distribution, and figuring out all the social media options were the hard parts. At least it was for me. Talk about feeling like a grandma who can’t figure out how to use the remote! If you’re reading this, you found my website which has magical links to Facebook, Instagram, and hopefully many other fun places where you can follow me and my books. Obstacle 48 out of 589,002 complete!
We as writers think of our characters and novels as our children and as the saying goes “it takes a village”. Same goes for publishing whether it be traditional or the self-version. I’ve attended writing conferences, on-line workshops, joined a multitude of author groups, and read until my eyeballs were about to fall out. My beta readers provided thoughtful feedback and my editor made everything look polished. Last, but certainly not least, my family supported this crazy dream every step of the way.
Do I know everything I need to self-publish? Absolutely not! Do I know enough to put Blood Match into your hot little hands? Let’s hope so. Paperback and eBook will both be available on your favorite platform very soon. Audiobooks are down the road, around step 749. My promise to you, my beloved readers, is that I have poured my heart and soul into this book. I hope you love the world and characters as much as I do.
