Summer may be winding down but projects never stop around here. I’m working on writing Rowan’s short story while editing Book 3 of the Blood Match series. There are multiple vehicle and house projects too. Stay tuned for what I’m loving referring to as the “The Van Project”.
All that being said, my favorite summer project is always my garden. This week I entered my roasted purple tomatillo salsa into my husband’s classic car show contest. Fingers crossed! The purple tomatillos, three kinds of peppers, and two types of tomatoes all came from the garden. The garlic and lime were from the store but nobody’s perfect. The pictures don’t do it justice but the salsa was very purple and delicious, just like the 1950 Dodge Wayfarer.
Fall is my favorite time of year but it’s always hard to say goodbye to fresh veggies a couple steps into my backyard. Maybe someday I’ll have the time to put up a greenhouse but for now I will enjoy my little garden for the next few weeks before the first frost arrives. And if I’m really lucky, I’ll get another batch or two of this purple goodness.
